Stress affects us all at one time or another. Learning to combat the effects of long-term stress is important to prevent it develop-ing into more complex conditions such as anxiety and depression or affecting the body including high blood pressure, weight gain, chronic pain, IBS and insomnia, to name a few.
All of these conditions in themselves can also add to stress which causes a vicious circle of trying to manage one problem and preventing another.
Learning to live stress free may feel impossible with todays busy work schedules and increased pressure form money, family or health issues but there are still ways to help and even reduce stress quite dramatically just by changing our behaviour and daily practices.
When I learned certain hypnotherapy techniques, I used them to helped me overcome the effects of stress, I was amazed at how simple it was to learn and implement in my daily life.
Not only did it help me but I also helped family members and friends who were struggling with the pressure from daily living, and now I bring it to you.
The internet has largely become our personal ‘go to doctor’. This means that we should be able to easily find ways to overcome stress related symptoms but there is so much information that just knowing which methods to choose can be overwhelming and stressful.
Of course, this leads to a sense of feeling disheartened and ‘stuckness’ and no momentum to move forwards.
Hypnotherapy helps stress. Being stressed is mental and physical tension that is being held in the body and mind.
Prolonged stress becomes more difficult to let go of and this is where hypnotherapy steps in to help.
“…Kirsch, Montgomery, and Sapirstein (Citation1995) reviewed 18 studies and found that clients receiving cognitive-behavioural therapy enhanced by hypnotherapy showed greater improvement than at least 70% of clients receiving nonhypnotic treatment”

Stress is not a one-size-fits-all category, each individual experiences both physical and mental stress differently, whilst battling it in unique ways, for unique reasons. Using hypnotherapy for stress, hypnosis can help build positive expectancy and better coping strategies regarding treatment, whilst engaging with clients in a more relaxed setting to continue their personal growth.
By guiding people into a state of relaxation and safety, hypnotherapy helps explore the negative impacts on a person’s mind or body. Then, whilst in the deepened state of relaxation, hypnotherapy can explore new methods of coping and new strategies to better the individual’s mindset or actions of bettering themself.
Hypnotherapy for stress is a proven technique to help with a multitude of issues, stress being one of them. Success stories of hypnotherapy for stress date all the way back to the 18th century, and we still use them today in order to help individuals in need.
While it may not be for everyone, hypnotherapy for depression aims to reinforce positive mindsets for all individuals. Relaxation and hypnosis can provide a new, in-depth analysis to an individual’s issues and present them with strategies to face them.
There are no set number of sessions of hypnotherapy for individuals. Like CBT therapy, hypnotherapy moves at the pace of the client. Unlocking new mindsets may take one session, may take ten, or may take years to adapt. It is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and for individuals who are seeking out hypnotherapy for depression or similar, the answer lies solely on the person to decide when they feel strong enough to use techniques without a hypnotherapist.
